disable/turn off tpms
Hi,
I was wondering if you can turn off or disable the tpms on a 99 vette? I had read once that a tech2 could turn it off but wanted to find out if it was actually possible or not. Some of the sensors are going and I would rather just turn it off then replace it. Thanks in advance.

100% correct. Why turn them OFF??
If there broke up-grade the sensor SYSTEM to a 2001+ system. Theres a post out there that explains how.

i somehow turned my tpms reciever off when i did a motor rebuild awhile back and had the battery disconnected for awhile and reset the pcm. there wasnt any service lights but there was no read out for tire pressure and the key remote diddnt work, untill a week later when i trained the remote i got the service light for the tpms. i just trained them and forgot about it, maybe pulling a fuse for the fob reciever and then putting it back could shut it off, untill you train something. maybe someone knows alittle more about this

I tried to do that and found out that the is a universal backorder for the 01+ receiver. I found a used one for three times what OEM price was for it so I just went to corvette don for rebuilt sensors.
