Default Tires?

It's time for new rubbers. LOL. I'm not going to use runflats this time. What's everyone's choice for rubber? I need something sticky since I'm running 3.73 with a Yank 3600. Quiet would be nice too but I'm willing to bet i could have wagon wheels on and still be quieter than runflats.
LMAO!

TIA,
MJ

Lots of threads on this subject. Do a search or two.

I recently purchased the Nitto INVO's for my 01. I went with larger rims and I wanted a good quiet tire that would not break the bank and had good traction. Check them out. Lots of theads on them too.

How do you like that tire? Does it stick like glue? Wear? Tire looks nasty, but does it perform that way in your opinion?

Top tier tires:

Goodyear GSD3 (longest lasting, made in USA, and excellent traction, dry or wet)
Michelin PS2 (most expensive, but excellent dry or wet traction)
BF Goodrich KD2 (a little bit noisy, but as with the others, great traction)

Most others are not quite in the same league but if you use your C5 as a sunny day cruiser, you probably won't notice the difference. I don't and I do notice a difference!

Several of our club members are running the Nittos and they are good tires. I have stayed with the Goodyear Supercar tires for my Z06.

Goodyear Supercar tires did it for me. I went from runflat to Supercars and picked up 2/10 of a seconds. I too have 373.

I only have had the tires for a few months. I don't drive the vette much in the winter so I cannot tell you much about the wear. They handle great IMO and are VERY quiet. I did extensive research before I purchased them and decided they were the tire for me. I was going to go with the Mich. ps2 but they are very costly and since I don't track and only drive my car on weekends it didn't make much since to spend the extra coin.

Instead I splurged and purchased the CCW 505a's I alway wanted. They also recommended the Nittos so I was glad to have the rims delivered mounted & balanced with new sensors so I could bolt them up my self.

I did several searches and a couple of tread had comments from members that had the ps2 and they said the Nitto was quieter and they felt it had as good if not better traction. Plus the wide rim protector on the ps2 bothered me when I saw them in person on a c5 in the exact tire size I wanted (305x30x19).

Do your own reseach and deside for your self since you have to live with them for the next 20 - 30000 miles and not to mention "its your money!"

Good luck.
