Default reverse issues?

Okay i just got done doing my clutch. Put in the centerforce DFX and a new slave and a remote bleeder. Had a freind helping me and he said had disconnected all the wires from the tranny I grabbed the sway bar and yanked and when i did i tore the wires out of four sensors. Two on top of the tranny. The wires on the speed sensor and the wires on the side sensor on the tranny. I tried re wiring them but i geuss i didnt do it properly because now ive got a host of issues. I want to take the car out for a test drive but i cant get it out of the grarage, haha. Car will go into everyother gear and i actually "drove" it forwad a few feet so the clutch is working and running through the gears is no problem.

So recap i pulled the wires out of a bunch of sensors. Tried rewiring them, and dont think i did it properly and i need my car back like yesterday, haha so whats my next course of action.

Problems,

- Car wont go into reverse with out me MAKING it even go towards reverse then it wont even go into reverse. making me think its a linkadge adjustment or something. If so could some one point to a thread where it tells me how to adjust it.

- When i crank the car it pops up tranny fluid hot on the screen but the cars not even been moved?

I know something is up with the wiring but i need to get the car into reverse. I made a post asking for the pigtails but i have no issue rewiring it myself if someone has a pin out of the colors that go to what side of what sensor ill be good. Took a guess with what color went where and im guessing that i did it wrong

Thanks in advance guys

Okay i just went back out and aside from the wiring issue i CANNOT get the thing to go into reverse at all. This is why i think it has to be something in to the linkadge.

Is there anyway you could tell me the colors of the wires going to what sensor and to what side of the sensor. Like for instance with the speed sensor in place what color is the wire on the right and what color is wire on the left. Same for the illustration above. What color is what on what side of each plug.

YOU ARE THE MAN................... Now the only one i need is the speed sensor.and Just to make sure im getting this right. With the clip installed A is on the right. B is on the left. Not good with read those read outs but im trying.

Again thank you so much. Tomorrow morning im going to try adjusting the shifter and rewiring all those sensors. I can only hope that fixes the issue.

You Probably don't need to adjust the shifter. Reverse inhibit would cause the problem you described. Most connectors have small letters on them to tell you which pin is which. Hard to find sometimes, or maybe these don't. If not let me know, and tomorrow I'll find that info for you, later, BH

These electrical things would do this though right? Ill hold off on adjusting then and just rewire this stuff in the morning.

just went through some issues myself....Ill tell you this- The skip shift solenoid and the reverse lockout can be clipped into each other. And if you have one of those skip shift eliminators, like i do, the solenoid on the side of the tranny(the skip shift solenoid itself) doesn t get anything plugged into it cause the pigtail(wire connector) has a plastic looking thing plugged into it already. So the one on the side of the tranny in the pic Byron sent u is the skip shift solenoid. If you re not getting it into reverse, ill bet $1.00 its the solenoid on the top either isn t plugged in or it is plugged into the wrong solenoid(skip sh solenoid). Prob not the adjustment. I learned this after Byron sent me the same pic and i laid under my car for an hour or two looking for another wire connector, only to realize that there wasn t one, i had the reverse lockout connector clipped into the skip shift solenoid. So i unplugged the connector out of the solenoid and plugged it into the reverse lockout solenoid and- WALLA!!! Reverse!! I hope this helps you, if you don t already have it figured out!! Remember, if u have the bypass for the skip shift, you will leave the solenoid unhooked from the wire connector because you ll have a plastic looking thing plugged into the wire connector that origionally plugged up there. Good Luck!!-Jason

I havent had a chance to go back down there after last night. But i did go down and swith those wires just for the heck of it and it didnt do any good. I honestly think i wired it backwards like the wrong color wire going into the wrong side of the plug or something.

Thanks for all the help. We will know tomorrow around lunch time if this fixes. To cold in the garage right now to go mess with it.

also when i changed out the tranny fluid i removed the reverse lock out assembly on top, took the 4 bolts out, just to make putting the fluid back in go faster. Could i have messed something up? Could i have got something out of synch or something? Thanks again

And again could the speed sensor have something to do with these issues? like i said i havent driven the car yet after the instal more than 4 ft so i dont know if the speed sensor is reading right.

oh and for the record, I HATE WIRING.

oh and those picture with A and B labeled. Is that looking in the front of the sensor(part the actual plugs in) or is it looking in the back(where the wires go in)

Looking at the end of the plug. Tip end that plugs into the part.
