So a couple weeks ago in a good rainstorm my wipers developed a mind of their own and decided to do what they wanted.
I searched and found that my drains were most likely stopped up.
I checked them out and they were udderly full of crap.
I removed the motor and took the cover off and found green corrosion on the contacts. I cleaned those with electrical parts cleaner and dried it out real good with a hair dryer. I reinstalled everything and they now work but will not park.
Even with the wiper arms off I can watch the studs rotate and they never try to go into the park position.
Anyone know if I may have gotten the cam off of position because the motor and assembly was off for 3 days and I was not sure exactly what position it was in when I took it off, or do you think my circuit board is bad.
I had to replace my motor and have the same issue as you. This spring I will have to play the guessing game on the wipers. I should have never thrown away the picture that came with my new wiper motor. If anyone has or can take take a pic of what it should look like...PLEASE POST!
This is one of the parts where you wonder what they were thinking by not putting a keyway on the part and shaft so that there is no question about how it should go back together.
Mine were doing the same thing, and when I checked them out and got the udders cleaned, I have the same problem. Mine will not park either. I just adjusted them to where when they stop they stop on the rests. When the arm comes up on the left side, It doesn't go as far to the left (like if you are looking at it through the windshield) but it does the job good enough. In these cars, past 40 or 50 mph you don't need them anyway in anything but a pouring rain
