Default Coolent for C5

I just reinstalled my antifreeze tank last night and placed the coolant that I was able to capture when I diconnected the hoses. Note: I pinched the S hose to the block with vice grips after it was diconnected. I lost some coolant, yet I still need to add coolant to the tank.
Question: Do you have to bleed the lines and if so, how?
Also, does anybody have any recomendations on which coolant that I need to use, or just replace it with the manufactures recommendations?
Where is the best place to purchase the coolant?

G.M. says to replace the coolant with Dex Cool. And you should'nt have to bleed the system also you can get the coolant at just about any store.
Walmart, autozone, car quest, pep boys.

Default Coolant replacement

When adding or replacing coolant in ANY GM vehicle....always replace with Dex cool the manufacture insists on. Your cooling system with corrode with ANY other coolant. Dont mess with this one!!

If I understand your note correctly, you are reusing all the old coolant you could capture.
I would not risk putting old coolant back in. In fact, it would be a good time to drain the rest of the coolant and refresh the whole system.

There are no "bleed" vents on a C5. The shop manual says to replace cap and alternately rev engine to 3,000 rpm until temperature gets to 210 F. Then add coolant as needed. Do this 3 times, adding coolant to 1/2 inch above cold mark.
