Default I need help!

I'm trying to add fluid to my automatic trans in my c5. I need to know where the plug is located on the automatic and the exact procedures for checking it.

I found a plug on the driver's side of the trans and I'm not sure if thats the fill plug. I tryed to add some fluid and it just leaked back out while the engine was running.

Someone post a picture of the plug your suppose to remove to check the fluid or add.

Seems to have a small leak, and ive had the radiator off a couple of times. No fluid is coming out when i remove the plug and it won't take any either. The plug I'm taking out is a 10mm bolt head that's countersunk into the side of the trans.

The drain (& fill) plug is on the driver’s side of the automatic’s oil pan – bottom of the transmission, of course.

With the transmission up to temperature and idling (engine running) and on a level surface –

Depress the brake pedal and move the shift lever through the gear ranges, pausing a few seconds in each range. Return the shift lever to PARK.

The proper fluid level is the bottom of the fill/drain hole - ENGINE RUNNING.

Wear mechanics gloves and be aware of the HOT exhaust pipe.

Can you post a picture? I must be overlooking it or something.

Its like a 3/4 in giant plug on the drainpan. The pan is really easy to identify.

I don't know what metric thing you are talking about. The fill plug for these is in the pan. Maybe somebody else might know what that part is for.

Where is the 10 mm bolt head you are talking about located if it wasn't at the rear of the car?
