fitting 16" wheels on c5Z . help! :(

how in the heck do i get 16" firebird wheels to fit on my 01 z06. i grinding the balljoint and top of the spindle down quite a bit and the wheel still scrapped when i would turn it, so i grinding the wheel just a lil bit to where the scratch would move away and it would just scrape again. sometimes worse than others.. i just dont get it

yeah. bought some 16 in with mickey et streets on them. he had them on a vette but i thought they fit without any problems. i was wrong

I think I remember reading where guys have ball peened on the knuckle or ball joint a bit to avoid scraping. Do a search you will find it!

i cant find crap. all i found was talking about 16's on c6 z06 with and without z51 brakes.

Yeah, the search function is great isn't it. I can't even find a thread I started in the for sale section last week.

I know there was an extensive discussion on how to do this several years ago. Have you tried posting in the Drag Racing section of the forum?

for one.. my caliper doesnt even grind. if it did i would grind on the red z06 calipers..

two... ccw wheels must be different than stock firebird, i have grinded alot off the spindle and ball joint and even the wheel where it was scraping. no luck

three.. i dont know how far to grind on that ball joint or on the wheel. its getting rediculous. do i need some kind of spacer maybe?
