Default 12 pk CD player

Can you install a 12pk in a car that already has the CD player in the dash unit or do you have to change the dash unit too?
If it came without the 12pk CD player, is the wiring hookup in the rear harnass or is there a separate "jumper" harnass needed to power the the unit?

TIA

Yes, you can install the CD changer, I did it in mine. At any one time you will have 13 CD's loaded to go. Aside from the changer you will also need to locate a mounting bracket kit and a cable that wires it up. The plug in connections are in the right side kick panel area. It is a fairly easy installation. The hard part will be locating the items mentioned, but check the forum parts for sale section. That's where I purchased mine. The changer was originally made by Pioneer for GM. The best price on extra magazines was from Crutchfield. I think the part number was JD-T1212 or something like that. You also used to be able to get the mount and cable from Mid-America or Eckler's but I'm not sure if they carry those parts anymore.

Much cheaper and easier to just convert to an Ipod setup!
