I just installed it and had EG and Jason set the tune for it. Major difference in throttle response, and power coming on due to the throttle response. Even in 6th gear cruising you can tell the difference.
FYI
I installed the vmax throttle body the sat. prior. During this installation,
i disconnected the battery, then connected after the install was completed. The car flaired to 3500 everytime i started it. I noticed that the response was much better when it settled down to 850.
I attempted to go for a drive and went into reduced engine power 50ft from the house. Removed and waited until EG had an opening.
Yesterday, i reinstalled the throttle body but didnt disconnect the battery. The car started up normal with no flair up, and Stephen drove it away with no problem to set all the fine details. So, i know there was a big difference in how the "my" car reacted to the new throttle body with and without disconnecting the battery.
I have a Vmax ls2 TB as well and it is an AWESOME piece! It did require some tuning to get the idle right (cold starts still aren't perfect yet) but the throttle response is amazing! Thanks Vman, pete, and mike norris!
Thanks for all the kind words everyone. We are always back ordered on the TB's as they are a very popular right now. I try to keep 3-4 on my shelf and it is a tough task.
After getting a baseline dyno run of 398 rwhp and 385 rwtq, I couldn't wait to install the V Max throttle body.
Took the car on a nice road trip to the NC mountains, and felt that the throttle response and power were slightly improved. Put the car back on the dyno, and imagine my disappointment with losing 9 hp and 9 ft lbs. 389rwhp 376rwtq. Only difference was +1 degree in temp., and 8% more humidity. 43% vs. 35%.
Don't know if this was enough to make the difference, but I feel like I just took a step backward. Both runs were on a Dynojet WINPEP 7 all wheel dyno. Hope that I am the exception, not the rule.
Thanks for all the kind words everyone. We are always back ordered on the TB's as they are a very popular right now. I try to keep 3-4 on my shelf and it is a tough task.
