C6 seats installed into C5

I removed mine and drilled out the three large rivets that hold the steel mounting bracket to the seat frame. The rivets are 1/4" and I used a 15/64" drill bit and it worked perfectly. There is a foam company here in town and I will go by there today to get some foam cut to size to go into the cavity. For anyone not doing this and leaving the airbag module in their seats, I would STRONGLY recommend you do NOT just cut off the wires going to the yellow SIR connector hanging down under the seat. There are what are called "shorting bars" incorporated into the design of the connectors for safety. If you just cut the wires, you defeat this and risk an accidental deployment of the airbag (or seat belt pre-tensioner) at some point in the future. Better to just tie-wrap the wiring and it's connector up out of the way. Remember too, there is a seat belt pre-tensioning system incorporated into the C6 seats and it too uses pyrotechnics to fire it, just like the side airbag and it has it's own separate circuitry. Both the side airbag (2 wires) and seat belt pre-tensioner (2 wires) go to the yellow SIR connector.
