Default Programming Remote Problem... HELP!!

I purchased a keyless remote and my buttons to the right of my gauges are not working.... Is there any other way to program the remote without those buttons working? Let me know.

I don't believe that will work with a new fob, only with one that was previously programed to the car. If it did then anyone with a fob could open any car

I think you're going to have to get the button problem fixed before you can program the new fob.

Every time the question is asked about programming a new remote, someone comes up with the "hold the lock and unlock". If that worked everyone could unlock every other C5 in the world. That only resyncs an already programmed remote.
You'll have to fix your DIC buttons first, then make sure you bought the correct remote, then run the program to match it to your car.
So, does your car always display mileage? Pressing the reset button on the DIC doesn't do anything? If you ever get a message, you won't be able to clear it until you get that fixed if that is the case.
