I'm just wondering if it is good practice to patch or plug runflats? I noticed that I have a nail or screw in my rears, and i'm hoping they can get fixed like normal tires.
Also, My car has a slight vibration from about 55-60mph. Seems to be pretty isolated to those speeds in 5th or so. It's not a constant either, it's a pulsing "comes and goes" vibration. Not sure if I could chalk it up to a Torque Tube, or wheels out of balance or what. I figure that I would get a vibration all the time with the TT though?
I have picked up nails/screws in both of my rear Goodyears over the years and have had them patched successfully. Both times I took the tires off my '02 convertible and and took them to NTW. Wasn't cheap but they are fine now other than still being a loud, obnoxious tire. Can't speak to the vibration as I haven't experienced that.
My tires are the Kumho MX runflats. I guess i'll take them somewhere to have them looked at. I figured I would ask because I remember when I used to "bust tires" when I was younger some places wouldn't work on runflats.
Any other thoughts on the vibration? I'm hoping it's just a wheel balance issue.
I always had my run flats patched at Goodyear but it became expensive, like 65.00 When the run flats became slick I went to Nitto zr rated tires, a set installed was only 650.00 Also I got nearly 60,000 miles out of them vs the run flats at 1,400.00 set and only about 25,000 miles. Plus I can plug the nitto, and the nitto did not ride stiff. I did buy one of those portable air compressors and put some tire plugs in the rear hatch just in case a tire got below the 24 psi and warned me of a possible nail\leak.

Speed related vibrations are likely an out of balance wheel or a bad tire. Bring it to a shop with a Hunter Road Force balancer. That may correct your vibration problem. I have also had runflats patched. As was said earlier, as long as it's not on the sidewall they can be removed and patched. Make sure they are familiar with runflats and know what they are doing.
