Hey all, I am looking for what I would have to do to push an LS1 to 500 hp with similar torque. I have been hearing elseware on the list that it is as simple as a head/cam swap. The engine in question will be going into a '63 roadster (under 2700#'s, hopefully). I also want to add a 100 shot of Nitrous for occational trips to the track. How pheasable is this? Does anyone have any leads on where to get LS1 "takeout" engines? Thanks for your help!
Th get HP & TQ at the 500 level you desire, you will need to stroke a LS1. Call one of the supporting tuners on the right side of the screen. Good luck.
If you mean 500 HP at the crank (425RWHP). Yes, you can achieve that with heads and cam, and bolt ons. Most if not all the tuners on this board could get you there.
500 hp at the flywheel can be easily done, however 500 hp at the rear wheels will require alot of top and bottom end work (ie. stroker motor). Either one can be done by just about any supporting tuner.

I don't know how pheasable it would be at the rear wheels, but I'm sure it's quite feasible at the crank. :)
