Anyone know if the 3-ribs or 1-rib is the only difference in them? Im guessing so....Meaning, is there anything different, that you can t see that is different between the two?
Is 1-rib with a DTE brace as strong/stronger than a 3-rib? I know alot of guys run a 3-rib w/out a brace and do it successfully.
I believe the case casting is the only difference - nothing internal that I know of. Your question is a tough one...since there will be a debate on whether the brace really does anything or not. Most just submit to..."it can't hurt" and "it is good insurance".
Too many variables and opinions to give a real answer!
If you look at how the brace works, it has to help. The three rib should always be stronger irregardless since it is simply a stronger design. That said, if you race the car and are dropping the clutch with sticky tires, I think you are living on borrowed time with either case and no brace installed.

I totally agree! I installed one, thinking "it can t hurt", and it looks like it "braces" together the parts that seem to come apart in the pics i ve seen of exploded diffs. The part i would like to know for sure is just how much the 2 "extra" ribs help. I ve read of alot of guys with multiple hard leaves(with sticky tires) and a 1 rib diff w/o brace. I agree with the "borrowed time" statement!

I'm one of them. Probably 150+ 1.5x launches on slicks w/ 4.10s and 400+rwhp on a single rib and no failure. I'm doing better than all my 3 rib braced friends who broke their rears. If I'm on borrowed time I'm sure borrowig a lot of it.
