Clunk from rear on deceleration and turns.
First, the data:
2000 Coupe, Z51, A4, 3.15 gears, 27000 miles, never raced.
The description:
I get a "clunk" sound from what sounds like the rear when the tranny downshifts during deceleration; about 30% of the time and almost always during the 3-2 downshift. Rarely, I hear the exact same sound while turning (it's a single clunk, never more than one). If the car is in neutral, however, I never get the sound.
