REMINDER DO NOT GO INTO THIS BUSINESS!!

Very true. There are to many of us :)

Tom
One of you may come to Austria and open a shop here!
Thers´s NO competition here and you could earn a lot of money.

I would appreciate it to have a vendor/tuner here where I can easily go, get my parts and have it installed!!

Lot´s of others would be happy also!!!

And in USA there are so many :(

You happy USA!!!!!!!!!

If ya all would hold off on buying them darn SC's for awhile, it just might come down to $4500. But supply and demand is the thing...too many will not wait for that price, and want to be the first on the block to have a SC in their vette
I think the C7s will be out by the time you see pricing come down for the C5 superchargers :)

Ha-Ha, I am a consumer and not a business owner in this case. Some of the vendors like LAPD, TByrne, MattG and others have given their introductory price and GP prices to help us. Peach comes on pushing for a lower price. No problem there. But after myself, others and vendors rebutt his claim, then he says he has lost a lot of money since 9/11 and we should chip in to get him a cheap SC setup basically. That is the part I find arrogant. And if he can get it done, fine and more power to him and great for everyone else. No broken law as you mentioned, just makes Vette owners look bad in general at times.
Put yourself in Austrian Vettes shoes like he says and maybe a whole new perspective can be seen by us in the states. Probably not. We have it very good here in the states and there is always very fair pricing here on the forum and elsewhere. Some do overcharge and/or rip people off. This is not the case here and we have a voice if someone does us wrong. The pricing for forced induction, as I mentioned previously and be it SC or turbo, has come down money wise quite a bit lately with quality products and this is about as good as its going to get I believe. To get the best setup in the long run I believe it will still be the $10-12K plus systems ahead in the end. But the ATI is a cheaper alternative for now and we will see.

"just gotta have it" mentality will keep the price elevated for some time to come. Nice try though.

BOBSZO6,
This is the biggest BS I have read in a long time!
I was the first one to install this, I sertanly did take some risks, and I have shared with me everything about my experience with this kit so far.
So do NOT give me BS because I payd what I call a fair marked price!
Belive me, if anyone can get this to a lower price, it is nothing that make me more happy. But do not BS me because I did buy mine right away!

Peach buddy,

No disrespect, but I doubt anyone could sell you something with a gun to their head. I know that at that price their giving it away.

It's like a pill they cost cents to make but MILLIONS to R & D, We the customer pay for that R & D... No difference here.

Folks loose that thought process... Someone actually spent thousands of dollar and hours to produce this product and then you expect them to just give it away.

If there were a million people who wanted this product I assure you the price would be AWESOME but there not there are only a few so it's priced accordingly... Try and understand that.

Just venting... No flame :-)

Thanks, You just proved my point....hold off next time for a good deal. How long do you think the price would stay at the current inflated level if they had no takers, like you? Thats right, not very dang long! Give it a few weeks next time, ok.

5 people needed to get the ATI charger for around $4500. It's going up on the 1st feb $700.

Anyone interested??????

peachey@tampabay.rr.com
Peach, I hear what you are saying about not wanting to pay more, but this sure looked like you had a deal. You even said how many people it would take to get it :nono:

There's an old saying in sales. "You can't make it up in volume".

Think about the time and man hours that have gone into kits like this. Think about the motors that did not get off the dino. This is a first class kit. Some times we forget the old line:SPEED COST,HOW MUCH DO YOU WANT TO GO? P.S. Be nice to the ladys on the phone, you just don't know who wife your taking to :jester

Guys you really don't know how good you have it here. I owned a PTC supercharged Vette. It was done june of last year. The cost of the supercharger for me being from Canada was over $20,000, with our lousy dollar.........and your complaining about 6000??? Sorry your going to get a big :nopity from me!!!

Listen Im not really sure why you would say im arrogant becuase I stated I wanted to pay $4500 for this product.....This is a forum(look up the word forum)If you dont agree fine. You would think that at this very early stage, their would be some deals out there to get people excited. It would have been good marketing. If you think Im wrong in that...so be it. No sleep lost here. That's how I VALUED it, that's what I wanted to pay. As for being misleading, a vendor hinted at that price(or very very close) if their were 5 buyers.. In future, I will not try and get anyone a deal. I will have one soon which ever way it comes. I tried to look up what GP's you had started, I couldn't find anything?????

Peach is correct. Don't know if it was as low as $4500 but Nate did imply that the price was going to be pretty low. For some reason $5K comes to mind but don't quote me on it.

I'm a pretty high profile individual, GM should take advantage of this!! I'm up for a group purchase of Z06's.. we only need 5 people for the special pricing.... I'm willing to pay $30,000... who's with me?

Now if you read this and it made sense to you... :nonod: :nonod:

If you read this and  You understand how stupid this entire thread was!

Please tell us what all comes with these kits? The supercharger itself is not all that expensive to mfr. The cost is in the development (testing, blown engines during testing) and tooling of special brakets, fittings etc, and programming. I have some experience in this area as I have bought an aftermarket turbo for a car, and am quite familiar with all of the components that go into such a kit.

Peach my friend; you have to realize that we are criticizing you because of your methods. Read your first post again, to me, and it seems like a lot of others here, read it as being something that was set up and ready for the green light as soon as 5 people were interested. Take a look Peach, there are more then 5 people interested in this... most ready to give you the money overnight!!! So one might ask, why isn't this GP running? Well my friend the answer is simple THERE IS NO GP on this item!! Even though your first post clearly stated there was!!

I find it humorous how you blame others for the conclusions they draw from you very misleading post. If you don't like, or want the criticism you are receiving with this post, on your next post, try to be a little more honest at what you're trying to do. Here is an example:

“How does a GP for these SCs sound? We only need 5 people and a VENDOR to get this rolling!!” Now had you said that, I don't think there would have been anyone perplexed over the content of this post.

Peach's intentions may have gone astray and understandably others thought that they were mislead but posting that a thread is "stupid" only shows lack of class, an attribute that I would think most Vette owners have.

...The kit should really be normally $6500 I believe and a special of $5800 or so would be nice and worth it if it works well. Now ATI comes with a very lower priced twin intercooled SC at about $7K-$8K installed and now this is too high? Thats too much and you have to laugh. I don't buy into the old "Vette guys get ripped while the F-bods get it cheaper" routine either.
Cool SS, thanks for your post. It reminded me, VIVIDLY, how much we Vette owners get screwed on the price of mods for our cars. I'm a great fan of economics and a great believer in price parity. That principle is severely violated when I see Vette owners paying $6,000 for the SAME kit F-Body people pay $4,500 for. And it IS the same kit, for the same engine (the F-body kit also includes piping, injectors, IC etc etc). So the SC is reversed and mounted on the opposite side...does that translate into an engineering problem that should be costed out at $1,500 a kit? I think not.

The ATI kit is a move in the right direction. They have taken the price of Corvette forced induction from IDIOTIC down to HIGH. Other RICH vette owners may have money to waste on $12K TT kits. But I am poor, not rich. So no one will be selling me anything at that price.

It is easier to design and install and F-body kit from what I have seen plus Vette owners demand more.
There it is again...Morse Code for "charge those Vette-driving dumbbuttes more"

Not to **** off those wanting to get a deal, no problem there.
No problem indeed...I'm not the one who makes a living selling these kits. No one can force me to part with my money, and nobody will at these prices :)

If it is fair and you can't afford, don't get it.
Thanks for that option  , I won't.

FYI for the dealers: I will be the first lined up for one of these when they get to $5,000-$5,500 which they WILL eventually. The only value the dealers can possibly add, BTW, is installation expertise. So you guys may want to leverage off that with a package deal, like, say, $6,000 installed ;)

Bear in mind that a guy like me sees it like this: I can get a $44K Coupe, add the $6K blower, and have a $50K car with about 400RWHP with the 5psi kit (the only one that a stock motor will survive with, long term).

Or I can get a $48K ZO6 with 365 RWHP and a warranty. It has 12% less HP, but the gearing MORE than compensates. See the dilemma?

Oh, and one more thing for the vendors: The tactic of "hurry up and buy it from me now before I screw you with another $700 price increase" is really not too clever. Personally, it just pisses me off and makes me not want to deal with that vendor. At least have the sense to time such a tactic with bonus payouts or tax refunds which (hint, hint) occur in the latter part of the 1st quarter (that would be March). Remember, you're asking people to part with hard-earned cash in the middle of a recession, and we can just say "NO". So at least try to be nice and sexy about it.

Sorry for the rant...it is just business, nothing personal. :)
