So no matter what possisition I set the memory to, every single time I get out and lock the doors and then unlock to get back in, the seats, wheel, and mirrors adjust to a setting that was never programed.
I really don't use the memory's, so if there isn't a fix asside from replacement, I wouldn't mind to just dissable this function! I have pulled the plate from the door and see that there is only one harness to controll the entire panel, so I'm not sure how to just unplug it... Any ideas?
In the DIC you will find a settings page. Just pull it up and turn the memory function to OFF.
The fix may be as simple as you have re-programming you FOBs . Are you sure that your programming the memory functions correctly. Look on the back of your FOB. You will see #1 and on the other FOB #2
Make sure your programming the #1 Fob to the #1 setting and using that Fob for your presets. If that confusing, just program both memory settings to the exact same settings and see if that resolves your issues.
Fob settings can also be screwed up if the memory module looses power. If you start the car and the FOBs loose sync on the next useage, your 12 VDC Battery could be going south. Trust me on that one!!!
Not the KEYS but the FOBs. Each FOB has its own identy. So, it you have #1 and set all your settings to Memory #1,,,each time you unlock the car with your fob, the car will be set to your prefered settings. If your friend has FOB #2 and unlocks the car with his FOB, all the settings will be set to his settings. If you switch FOBs each time you unlock the car with the fob, it will have strange settings.

Okay so lets try to go one step further. I have the memory loss and key fob loss problems. Are you saying that if i get a new/repair my key fob that requires resync every few hours my memory problems will be solved also ? And does this only apply if the passive lock/unlock function is on or off or does it not matter. Mine is a 99 model i didnt see he model of the OP.

Reason: additional question
Well if I use the same fob ALL the time, it shouldn't make a difference as long as I set it with that fob. Even while sitting in the car, I can set the memory (1 or 2), lock the doors with the fob then unlock and everything adjusts without even getting out...
Being only one wireing harness to the panel, what would need to be replaced to solve this? Is there maybe a relay somewhere or a "brain" that could be changed out that might have gone bad??
