I've got light issues
The fog lamps AND the instrument cluster lights don't work on my wife's C-5. The bad part is I was just "rewiring" her four light mod, so I "messed it up"
I checked the fuse for the instuments #19 in floor board, and the fog lamp fuse #6 under the hood, and both are good. I checked for power with a 12v tester, and there is no power at the headlight plug at the front of the car.The interesting thing is, when you shut of the lights, and open the door, the cluster works perfect.
BTW, the fog light indicator doesn't work either if that matters.
I need help before I get CUT OFF!!
The fogs are affected by the headlamp switch and the usual cause of the instrument lights not working is usually the same switch...not always but usually.
I haven't heard of a lot of headlight switch problems. I know there are some issues with turn signal switches going bad.
Any quick test to narrow it down?
Is there a possibility of the relay being the culprit?
The fog lamps are controlled from a relay in the engine compartment. If the small indicator lamp comes on, then the relay out there turned on as the indicator gets its power from it directly. However, the headlamp switch will turn off the fog lamps when you switch to the high-beams. Lately, there's been lots of headlamp switch failures! I can't say for sure this is the problem, but that same headlamp switch causes problems for the dash illumination as well. You can repair it rather than replacing it but need a tiny torx tip to get it apart. Now there are other things related...are the DIC, HVAC and Radio indicators working normally day and night? Have you pulled the codes just in case?

The indicator light does not come on when I turn the fog lights on. I will check when I get home to make sure she had the highbeams off when we were checking
We had some codes, but I'll have to cehck waht actul codes are there. Do you have any more info on that fix.
I agree with minifuse #6 in the IP electrical center. Also check minifuse #32.
