Rotors & Brake Pads

Hey Guys, If I had a hard time programming my VCR is there any chance in he**I can replace the brake pads and rotors myself? 1998C5

That really deends on your mechanical abilities and whether or not you have the tools at your disposal to do the job.

Easier than a VCR, just need the tools.

I am an accountant and I do mine. Pads will be pretty easy. You just need a 15mm socket and a 16mm wrench and C-clamp or big pliers(to spread calipers). Now if you are changing rotors it gets a little harder. You have to remove the caliper brackets, which takes a 21 or 22 mm socket and a big breaker bar, as they are factory torqued at 125 plus age. For some reason, the rears always seem to be harder. I ended up having to take mine to a tire place to break rears loose as I couldn't get car up high enough to get a breaker bar on it. I have to do mine this weekend for a thurs track day. I may do a DIY write-up w/pics as there doesn't seem to be cf one. Once you do it, you will be glad you saved yourself the money.
