Well I thought I had all of my electrical issues behind me then today I took my 99 coupe to the car wash and did a little light washing on the front of the engine. I didn't blast with the washer just light pressure on the front of the heads and down by the fans and around the lower suspension. Now I get service vehicle soon, service traction control, service abs, service tire monitor system alarms.
Does anyone have any thoughts on what I may have done? Do I just need to let the car dry out?
Thanks in advance for any assistance
Rick
I can't recall if all 99's had the EBCM mounted in the rear of the car or if some had them mounted to the left front of the engine. If in front, the seals on the EBCM connector may be bad allowing water in.
Sounds like water got into the EBTCM wiring harness. Theres a serial data wire in that harness. If it shorts to ground or any other wire, the electrical system will go crazy. Pull up the DTCs and see if you see any U series DTCs.
You can try to let it dry out or maybe use some compressed air to blow out the excess water/moisture to speed up the process.
It was in fact the EBM seal. It's mounted on the front. I pulled the plug off and sprayed some contact cleaner in, let it dry then sprayed some WD40 in and blew it all out with air and all good now. Just got a little frustrated. Thanks for the input. I came in to post what I found and saw the reply. Reply was spot on.
Now off the the rear seal leak..Not looking forward to that at all. Looks like a bear to fix.
Thanks
