have you done an improved air intake? my 99 has a dual cone air intake, bbk headers ( i know, short tubes), gm hot cam, x-pipe, borla and tune and i am pretty happy with the package. i'm not sure what tq means but i could say that about a lot of things

I would do converter and gear change first. You will really feel it in the seat.

While I have a MN6 I'm still changing my rear before putting on headers. Headers will make it louder - some dont mind, but I like my car the way it sounds right now.

Really, though, you cant go wrong with either one.

Have fun!

You will end up doing it all anyway. I started with an air intake, long tube headers with high flow cats and a tune. Once the car breathes easier it is a very noticable difference. The car will sound much better and the response at the throttle will be noticeable. I even gained 5 MPG after the headers and tune. This was offset of course once I put the heads and cam in though, lol. Then came the gears and TC. After all the mods the gears and TC really make a huge difference because the car is producing so much power that can now be transfered to the rear wheels. Even if you don't go with heads and a cam the combination of headers, gears and a TC with a tune is a must and an easy way to get nice gains, the gears and TC alone make the car feel like you've added 50 HP because yu can now use the power the car creates. Whichever way you go you will be happy. Good luck with your mods and have fun... Oh, I forgot, I also recommend a racing catback system like the Borla XR-1, which is what I have. Even after all the mods I did once I put on the cat back it made another noticeable difference and sounds awesome! Good luck...

With my car I started with full exhaust first, then for the second round of mods I did Gears, TC and cam etc..I't doesn't really matter which one you do first, you'll be happy with both

Was just reading an article in one of the Corvette Magazines that said headers without a cam are a waste of money. They are expensive and wouldn't do much for a stock car.

A tune is never a bad idea. But you should get one EACH time you do a major mod.
