Why did ya pull the intake for a cam install?

(on second glance the first pic might answer that question)

Well, while the manifold is off, now's a great time to consider deleting the AIR system.

(seeing the pass. side tube sticking out like that was why I figured you pulled the manifold).

we took the air system off the car. We should have the motor and exhaust finished tomorrow.

Corvettes are so easy and fun to work on, I'm surprised it's not illegal.

I've got a buddy coming down from oklahoma on saturday for a base tune. LG is just a few hours away from us. I think Billy might take the car to them, since everything he has is LG.

I was thinking at one time I would do a cam swap in mine but then I backed out. I thought it looked like a huge job just to get to the front of the engine. I done heads and cam on my LS1 trans am but I had alot of room in front of the engine on it. Just asking do you have to drop the oil pan some to get the oil pump and tube off? I know on the TA I had to drop it about an inch or so to be able to get to the bolt for the pickup tube and to slide the pump off.

You don't have to drop the oil pan.

go for it working on a corvette is so much easier than an F-body. On F-body's the pick up tube bolt is on the lower side of the tube in the pan. On the vette for some reason its on the top of the tube. Right there easy to get to without dropping the pan. Everything else is the same(except easier to get to) Just have someone move the AC condenser up when you stab the cam just like on an F-body.

Heck I thought it would be more work since the steering rack would have to come out or be moved anyway.

You should be making some nice power with that setup. I had that cam back in 2005. I loved it too. Lou did the tune for me himself. Needless to say it was perfect. What other mods ?? I see you got a 2001 z so that ls6 intake/heads, and you added lg pros and the x3 cam. Should make 420 rwhp and 400 rwtq if everything goes right. Maybe a little more, maybe a little less. Any plans of adding a fast down the road ?? Your stock clutch and rear diff should be good for awhile too I hope. Anymore power and it will be time to upgrade. Good luck finishing her up. Doing great work guys. I am envious.
