Check article in June Issue of Corvette Magazine, they basically say headers on an otherwise stock motor are a waste of money, I'm kind of up in the air myself, I'm not interested in 15 or 17HP gain at 6000rpm, I am looking for "seat of the pants " increase in performance.
They have plenty of dyno proof of all types of stock and modified vettes. Here's some info. on one of the dynos done on a STOCK C5 with a complete exhaust set up nothing else...55 HP increase!!!
Check it out...

Absolutely...and discuss the benefits of ceramic coating with them. Headers will produce a lot of heat on those long drives. The coating will help get that heat out (so the engine, drivetrain and your legs ) don't absorb so much. After two years, mine still look brand new.
That is one side and it's something to think about. My tuner said not having the coating would allow the headers to shed more heat as if that was a good thing for performance (not so good for driver/passenger comfort). He suggested saving the money. Now I'm wondering.

hmmm...That is the opposite of my understanding. You don't want the headers to shed heat. The catalytic converters will work better and the exhaust gas will move faster.
Next week, I am having installed a set of LG Pro LT headers and a Vararam system. To compensate for the heat in the console area, I am going to be putting on an Elite Engineering 1/4" thick tunnel plate. This should stiffen up the ride as well. Topped of with a tune and before/after dyno run.....

^^EE also sells some insulation wrap for the tunnel plate that is supposed to reduce heat by about 50 degrees. I guess I will find out in a couple of months when I install.
When it comes time i'll be going with Kooks - LG's may or may not be a little better, but for the extra $$$ it's just not worth it to me. Plus, Kooks makes great stuff too!
