The best header really depends on how you plan to use the car. If the car is going to be driven on the street, you really want to focus on power under the curve and torque. The longer the header the better the torque.
You probably can't go wrong with ARH, Dynotech, LG, or Kooks. They all produce pretty similar results.
Wasn't there a documented C5 header shootout thread on here recently where Kooks outperformed all the others? I'll do a search and see if I can find it.

no that would be LG street or ARH
kooks are a horrible install and material in my opinion
We've had success with both ARH and LG. The fit and performance of both are great.

Did they say what primary and collector size they used? I didn't see the article, but it sounds like the plumbing was too large for a stock engine.
If I remember right when I read about this header shootout, most of the top headers tested had almost identical performance results. It may have been one of the Corvette mags, or a Chevy mag. I'm still searching for article.

No one is talking about ceramic coating. Do most of you get coated headers? Anybody not get them then decide to get them coated? Where would you send them? I got LG LT pros and just got the stainless. When I have my h/c work done, I was thinking of pulling them off and having them coated. What's the thoughts about that?

I've heard not to waste the money with the coatings!
Well I am going with the headers and vararam then off to Illinois for a quality tune on the dyno, I am not aware of any place in Wisconsin that has a quality dyno experiende with LS1 motor. I can't wait!
Try CorvetteSports out of Sheboygan Falls. Tell them Jerry sent you...I've done lots of work with these guys. They will help set you in the right direction.
They also have dyno days once/twice a year. It used to be in Manitowoc and now they utilize a dyno closer to you - Green Bay.

Cool thanks! Didn't know there was a dyno in Green Bay!

Absolutely...and discuss the benefits of ceramic coating with them. Headers will produce a lot of heat on those long drives. The coating will help get that heat out (so the engine, drivetrain and your legs ) don't absorb so much. After two years, mine still look brand new.
