Head Gasket Question
I've just intalled MLS head gaskets on my 97 with 243 heads. Something's always been nagging at me - 97 FSM as well as LS1howto says gaskets are unique to each side (2 tabs one side 1 tab other). gmpartsdirect.com doesn't differentiate between the two sides, only one part number listed for head gaskets (97 or otherwise). I'd just feel better if I knew both heads are the same and that if I get the "front" positioned correctly I'm good to go.

I believe that LS1tech and the FSM both reference the older graphite gaskets which had a left and a right. The MLS use the same gasket on both sides just flipped. I just did the same thing putting 243's on a 99, and as far as I could tell that is the story. If thats not right I got a problem as well. Hopefully someone else will answer.
