Change your rear gears to 3:15 or 3:42 and pocket all the extra $$$$.

Change the gears 3:42 Then have the car tuned this will be a real seat in the pants difference.Watch the prices on some of the gear swaps you might find a diff in the parts section from a Z06 andthe cost could very well be close.

I would do heads and cam if you are a DIY'er. You could get your heads ported, buy an LS6 intake, get a cam, and custom tune for 3k if you do all the work yourself.

Change out the gears to 3.42 and maybe a converter. It will be feel like a huge difference. I drove a 2.73 car on my initial test drive and made sure to get the 3.15's when I bought mine.

There is a world of difference between 2.73 and 3.42

My info says all Vettes from 2001 on got the LS6 intake manifold, so that step is not needed.

I agree with the others that changing the gears away from the anemic 2.73s is a good idea. I went with 3.42s. Not sure if 3.15s would have been enough. Never drove one. You should definitely be able to pick up 3.42s from one of the manual guys moving up. All manuals came with 3.42s and they fit on the A4s. You'll need a tune afterwards to change your shift points.
