Default I this any good?

I was looking to get an idea of pricing for a air intake system for my C5 and came across these two. I know that they most likely wont be as good as say a K&N or another well known brand but are they decent considering the price?

Thanks

Do a search and you will find people running these cold air intakes. In fact, there was an active thread just today!
Also, be advised.....they frown on posting auction site links!

If you want a dual cone you should go to Mid America,Theirs has provision for the vent tube made into the unit ,excellent construction and good quality filters. The auction site ones are of poorer quality and you have to mess with how the vent tube will connect with bushing etc.

Not to sure if this is still true. EBAY was a forum sponsor, and advertised on the forum, not long ago. Not sure if they still are.

Never was a fan of these 'style' filters. There not really cold air intakes. They look cool to the people who buy them. If you like the way they look, go for them. I'm a VARARAM user and it works very well for me.

There are other true cold air intakes that actually work (enhance HP/TQ) What do you want out of the filter/intake assay that your purchasing???? Looks or performance. Thats the real question.

Thanks guy. Sorry I was un-aware that it was frowned upon to post ebay links. I was looking for performance and some sound for the lowest price. My local chevy dealer tech, also a friend of mine, told me that the stock intake is VERY restrictive and that I would notice some noticeable differences in power. Did you guys notice any difference? Also which is one of the more popular system that many people use and are happy with?

NO harm done.

If you want to improve on the OEM filter without braking the bank,,up-grade to a 2001 ZO6 style stock intake. There better than stock early model filter systems!

If your interested in significantly improving the stock OEM filter for performance sake,,,,,serach for the FLIP TIE mod. There are a few WELL DOCUMENTED ways to make your stock OEM filter a performer.
Thers one that makes your stock filter system a true cold air intake. Its basicly FREE!

I think I will do choice B. If I read it correctly if will add some power for basically no cost and give better results than the Z06 filter would give. And I would have to pay for the Z06 filter. I think I find the thread and follow it. Thanks a ton!

EDIT: I found this http://www.z06vette.com/forums/f5/zip-flip-mod-109106/ There is a PDF guide a couple of posts down. Is that any good? And is that just for the Z06?
