Hey guys need some expert advice all right here is what i got.
98 vert
ss3200 stall
3.90 gears
vararam intake
tpis headers
160 stat
chuck cow mail order tune
gto spares on front
17" zr1 wheels with Dr.
hooker exhaust
3" offroad x pipe.
What should i expect in 1/4 mile.
And was wondering about what this car should weight.
with those gears and stall (assuming you're not blowing the launches due to poor traction) you should cut a 1.6 60' and low 12's ET. I imagine your drag radials go a long way with regaining traction.
but the 1/4 time and MPH are meaningless if you haven't first perfected the launch.
On street tires, traction will hamper you big time, so I would say low 12s easy. With DRs, you could dip onto the 11s. In fact, there is a CF member who dipped into the 11s with a very similar setup except he had stock 2.73 gears! He was on drag Radials of course.
You location/and sea level altitude will make a difference,,but a good launch and cool air could put you in high 11s. I live in the St.Louis area (about 600ft above sea level) have a friend with headers ,mild stall and DRs has pulled 11.9s.
I have an 02 vert when i took it to the track the scale said 3150. I was surprised, i thought it would be heavier. Hope that gives you some idea. I have H/C and 3.90 gear but 6speed, and the gear made a hugh differences for me because of my big cam. MS4 651./610 239/242 @ 111
