this is one of the most talked about subjects. Do a search on shocks you will find a ton of treads.
I have the Bilstein HD shocks on my 01 and I love them. They are slightly firmer than my old z51 shocks were but have much better control on all road surfaces at all speeds. Otherwise I think I would go with the c6 z shock - great results and great price.

I've got the Z51 option and went with the Bilstien HD shocks and am totally satisified. I've ridden in C5's with the sports and IMO they are quite a bit harsher than the stock C5 shocks or the Bilstien HD's but then I'm not 21 anymore either.

What suspension did it come with? It may have the FE1 soft ride suspension and if so you may not like a harsher ride for the occasional driver that the other suggestions would give you.
