need source for dash lights on 99
Anyone know of any wires on the radio harness or close by the radio that comes on with the dash lights?
I was hoping not to have to remove the dash to tap a dash light wire.
I tried posting on the audio/electronic forum but nothing yet.
This is the last thing I need to do to finish my installation.

Got C60 HVAC system? There are 2 wire connector plugs on the backside of the HVAC module. Connector "C1" is the 12-way connector. Locate the yellow wire on pin "J". It is the Instrument Panel Lamp Feed for that HVAC module. Tap your positive (+) wire from your gauges into that wire and they will dim along with the HVAC front panel lights. BTW, the Black wire at pin "K" is ground and would make a convenient ground for the ground side of your gauges to tap into.
Got CJ2 HVAC system? There is a 32-way connector on the backside of the HVAC module. Locate the yellow wire on pin "C16". It is the Instrument Panel Lamp Feed for that module. Here again, tap your positive (+) wire from your gauges this wire. The Black wire at pin "C1" is ground and your ground from your gauges can tap there. Note: there are 2 yellow wires on this particular connector so don't just splice into the first yellow wire you see.
You need the yellow wire at "C16".HTH
I'll check those out.
It just dawned on me this morning (sort of I coulda had a V8 moment) that I could always put a small toggle switch in the corner of the panel.
This is my track car and 99% of the time I will be running in daylight. We only have 1 event at night.
Well I'm off to the garage with multimeter in hand.
