Default M6 oil change

If anyone has done this and can remember, how much fluid does a M6 oil change take. I drained mine (about 3 quarts) and put in 3 quarts, that brought it to the fill plug hole. The manual says 4.1 quarts for an overhaul, but doesn't say how much for the change. Is it possible that there is room for one more quart that doesn't get drained when you pull the drain plug?

that's about how much I used 2 years ago. probably other amount is laying in bottom of case just as long as it is at the top of the fill plug it shold be OK, but to dilute all the old you could drain again and refill after a few miles

I just did this for my mine and it took a little over 3 qts. Check it at your next oil change and don't worry about it

Doing mine right now, it usually takes just under 4 quarts. I let mine drain a while and usually tilt the car towards the back to maximize how much comes out. I then level the car for re-fill.

How hard is this to do? Anyone have pics of the process or the fill and drain plug atleast. I mean I can look, but would rather have an idea before I jack it up.

Thanks
Derek

It is not that hard to do, I put my car up 7" - for me that is barely enough room

Take the fill plug out first, its on the drivers side half way up the side of the trans.

The drain plug is on the other side near the back

A pump like this is a must

I should have lifted the front to drain a bit more out - next time.
