Default High volume fuel pump question

i was talking with a buddy yesterday, he is just starting to build up his 02 c5. he asked me if the corvette has two fuel tanks, it has two fuel pumps, yet people only add one high volume fuel pump when doing a head cam upgrade...why? i could not answer him, he also asked which tank would get the upgrade..the left or right? ...it seems logical that a car with two tanks and two pumps should get two high volume pumps.....what say experts????

The factory pump is only in the left (Driver's Side) tank. Since the power and fuel lines go to this tank, it makes sense to just upgrade this one. Only those with the highest HP applications need to put a pump in the other tank.

Can you tell me where you read about the fuel pump in the right tank? I've seen dual pumps in the left tank for high HP requirements, but have not seen a pump in the right before.
