Default Forged Question

Pardon my ignorance but when people talk about a forged bottom end are they talking about the rotating assy or the complete block and internals? And if it's just the rotating assy does that include the crank as well?

I ask because my 00 coupe has heads, cam and all the stuff that goes with it, puts down about 415hp and runs awesome. However when I start driving her above 4k rpm it starts to use oil so I'm guessing there are some ring issues. For now I'm just adding oil when necessary but in the future I might want to add N2o so the ring issue would need to be dealt with. From what I have read, it would be in my best interest to go forged. So I'm just trying to understand what all might be involved.

Thanks in advance.

I'll guessing that if all bottom internals are forged, you can consider the block forged. I could be wrong though.

they are talking about the internals, not the actual engine block. usually its the pistons, rods and the crankshaft.

Yep. Forged = forged crank shaft, forged rods, forged pistons.
