I am taking on the task of replacing the clutch and slave cylinder this coming weekend and have a couple of questions that I could not find answers via search.
1. Is there a way to get the torque tube off from the bell housing without dropping the rear craddle/tranny/diff?
2. Do I need to take the shifter out of the car first?
Good time to upgrade the shifter to shorter through C6 ZO6 unit.
Why are you replacing the slave cylinder?
It is the actual part that has failed. The clutch has 88K miles on it and I do not want to have to get back into the whole thing again in another 10K if I can keep from it.
I was looking for a Short throw but seems that most have been grabbed up already. I don't feel like buying a new one this time around and this is just a daily driver car and don't need a lot of extra things right now.
If you havent gotten your parts already, check this thread out.(link in the first post) Mike seems to be a great knowledgeable guy. I have my Level 3 ordered. Youll need a flywheel holder/turner and the Ford a/c-fuel line tool also for the clutch hydraulic line. Also, not a bad idea to get the remote bleeder set up. Good Luck!

I have everything but the bolt thread fluid (can't think of thename at the moment) and the brake fluid. I do not have a clutch hydraulic line tool either. thanks
Get 2 harbor freight tranny jacks, cheap and makes the job very doable on the floor. Not breaking parts, is money well spent! just get an the assortment of plastic line disconnect tools.
