Default key fob

Key Fob won't hold memory. Bought a new one and still does not hold memory. What could be causing this?

Are your tire pressure sensors working?

I love this site for all the new stuff I learn everytime I'm on it. Would you explain how the tire pressure sensor plays into key FOB please?

The receiver module located in the back is used to recieve the signal from both the Tire Sensors and the Key Fob and send the signal to the computer.
If the receiver mudule is bad - that would possibly cause both systems to not work properly.

Also if for some reason there is a disruption of power and they both aren't working you have to program the tire pressure sensors first and then you can program the fob.

How common is this issue and can it work sometimes and other times not?

When I get the vett ready each spring to put back on the road, one of the FOB's seems to forget who it is.

Thanks!

When you say it won't hold memory, do you mean that if you hit unlock on the FOB the seat and other stuff does not go to where it should?

Also when you say you bought a new FOB - was it really a new one or a used one?

Do you have another FOB, and if so, does it work?

What model is your car?

I have been down this road. Mine is a '99 and was originally the old passive style system. I bought the parts for an '01-'04 model (newer style) fob and reciever and did the swap. solved all my issues. Mine was doing the same thing as yours. I too bought a new fob and it messed up as well.

For some reason 2000's love to do this. It usually requires replacing the FOB.
