I am looking to upgrade the injectors in my 2000 LS1, minor bolt on mods with a Diablosport programmer. What size do I really need? I am looking to get smoother idle and better throttle response. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

With only minor mods you dont need bigger injecters, the stock are fine. Ive done a filter, custom tune, ported TB, new intake, cooler thermostat, 1.85 roller rockers and Catback on the wifes car and it tuned out fine with the stock injecters. That said if you really want to go larger I have a set of 42 lb injecters I took off my LS1 blown car when I put the 427 in it last year, stock I believe are 28's. Cheers rick
I am not looking to go larger just for fun, I just wondered if there had been a better size / pressure setup on the later models. My car has a terrible rough idle, and most of the early models I have been around seem to idle rough as well. Thanks for the reply though I think 42lb would really be overkill
The stock injectors should be fine. Take it to someone who knows how to tune these motors and your rough idle and lack of throttle response will be history.
I don't know what would be better. I would scan and check the duty cycle on your injectors. You would probably want them at 85% duty or under.
FWIW, 1999 & 2000 Vettes got 26# injectors instead of the 28s.
I thought the 2000' were kinda odd.. That is why I was looking for more input, I though maybe GM tried something on the 1999 and 2000's only to go back to larger injectors later on.
Have you tried running some Techron through the fuel system? I have a 2000 LS1 that idled rough until two treatments with Techron. It is smooth and throttle response is much better. Has the fuel filter been changed?
