I put the Hawk HPS pads on my car a few months back. Great feel and stopping, no noise and much less dusting (hardly any) than the stock pads that were on the car.

PM me for the best source I found on line for these.

For anyone shopping, we keep them in stock. The Hawk HPS Front Pads are $104.76.

I STRONGLY recommend HAWK HPS pads, they stop better than ZO6 pads, dust very little, and are quiet.

I have used stock C5 pads (too dusty), GM Ceramics (stop poorly and "warped" my rotors, and HAWK HPS.

HPS or Ceramic?

The HPS is cheaper (I like that!)

And the description looks the same to me, am I missing something?

Another vote for Hawk HPS..No noise, great stopping power (they dust a bit, but far less than you'd expect for a performance pad)...

I have had probably over a dozen different pads on the car in the last few years (including 3 different types of Hawk pads).

for street use, nothing beats ACDelco Ceramics. They are quiet, generate the least amount of dust, last forever and are probably the cheapest you can buy.

GM Ceramics (stop poorly and "warped" my rotors
that's just plain funny - the least aggressive pad of all the ones you've tried warped your rotors?

Don't be so fast to call ... I too am currently using ACDelco ceramics and am experiencing some rotor warpage.

I put my GM Ceramics pads on after the stock C5 pads. Later I experienced some brake pulsating (vibrating through the brake pedal (and suspension) upon stopping).

I too praised the GM Ceramics for their VERY little (white colored) dusting and defended them against those who said they didn't stop well. I reasoned, if you can lock your brakes during ABS stops, you can't stop any faster. BUT, I was wrong, Evil Twin (an ex-GM C5 Engineer) told me that the coeffient of friction was less for ceramic pads and they stopped worse, they would take longer to lock the brakes and the rate of stopping would be longer (cycling would be less).

Well, I changed rotors and pads (to HAWK HPS) and I was AMAZED after I bedded in the HAWK HPS pads ! They stopped much quicker with MUCH LESS pedal force, the difference was AMAZING. You only had to rest your foot on the brakes to start stopping.

Here is my history of brake pad changes:

46,291 miles - replaced front pads with Stock C5 Pads. (no brake pulsating)
92,455 miles - replaced all pads with GM Ceramics (later brakes began pulsating)
115,675 miles - replaced all rotors and used HAWK HPS Pads (great brakes !)

Now, I have read that some people say that rotors never warp, they just build up uneven deposits from the brake pads. IF this is true, maybe the GM Ceramic pads cause this build up more than normal pads? It is strange that this happened to me and now a second person also experienced this with GM Ceramics. Definately not BS !

For non-competitive driving, they are a good choice.

I had them on my '01 for 2 years, with no rotor warping and very little brake dust.

I was going to recommend Hawk HP Plus until you said quiet/no squeal...

I've got them and they're loud, they squeal, and they stop way quicker than I could imagine...

Someone on here once said, "I tell my brake man that I want the loudest and dustiest pad you've got cause it stops the best"

It had an impact on me and I can't say that I think the guy was wrong...

I think I have ceramic pads on my Yukon XL...

They aren't my favorite and I'm definitely switching to some dusty high performance Hawk truck pads when the time comes...

It's not like a car/truck doesn't get dirty enough to clean after a day or two anyways...brake dust and vehicles getting dirty are like death and taxes...

inevitable...

Deal with the squeal and clean it...

Performance is the name of the game...

When you want to stop, it's nice to be able to do it as quick as possible...

I agree with all of that, if I tracked the car, but doubt I will, unless the economy picks up, and I have some extra burn money.

The car stops on rails, and will out stop 99% of the cars on the road, probably with even the cheapest pads.

So, if I can have no squeal (that gets stare, but not the kind of stares I like LOL) and the brake dust, I drive it almost every day, so the longer she looks clean the better.
