I need help guys I wanted to remove the center console on my 05 coupe and paint it. The problem is I don't want to break anything while doing so. I checked the FAQs but most old thread don't have any pictures. Can someone walk me thru the process and in addition removing the 2 fuel rail engine covers also.
Need a small flat blade screwdriver and a 10mm nut driver or socket.
Open the console lid. Towards the back there are two oval shaped plugs. Pull those out with the small flat screwdriver. Remove the two 10mm nuts underneath.
Use the small flat screwdriver to pry up the plastic piece that contains the traction control button. Disconnect all the connections. Remove the two 10mm nuts.
Slide the rear section of the center console and remove the fuel door button connection. You can then remove this rear section.
Not sure which shifter you have, but the **** will need to come off.
At this point, the console should be almost free. You will need to disconnect the cig lighter from the back of it.
Thanks Dave and Eric for the quick replies. I will tackle this and get this done and as far as the fuel rail covers those should be easy also? They pop off but is there any parts that I need to watch out for ( Brackets ) when taking them off.
