Just their detergent package. They might be putting a slightly higher concentration in,,but all top tier gas is good. I still throw a bottle of Techron in every few months!!
They are blending in an "Amine" and using it as a deposit control agent. I don't know which one (there are many) or how much, I'm sure that is a closely guarded trade secret. This is not new technology, amines have been used as gasoline additives in the past.
The Nitrogen is used as a carrier for the detergent package. Nitrogen is an inert gas, and does not burn. Most of this is marketing. Been using Shell V power exclusively in the 95 and 02Z-cannot tell the difference between the old blend and the nitrogen enhanced fuel

Shell is using Nitrogen gas as a carrier for the detergents, unlikely! Nitrogen is not exactly inert at high temperature in the presence of Oxygen. During combustion, atmospheric Nitrogen does react to form NOX (nitrous oxides). It's one of the by-products of combustion tested for during the emmision control testing.
Amines are Nitrogen based compounds; you would not be able to notice the difference by driving, its a deposit control agent, not a power enhancer.
I read an article in Car & Driver over a year ago and forgot about it until now. It disclosed that BMW, General Motors, Honda, Toyota, Volkswagen and Audi concluded the EPA minimum detergent requirements do not go far enough to ensure optimal engine performance.
