Well, we all know Goodyear runflats are :U but how do the Firestone RF's compare (handling, noise, grip) compare to the S03's. If it's close I just like to have the added safety of RF since there is no spare......
I just found out that the TireRack can not recommend tires for a 2000 & up C5 that are not run flats.
I told them O.K. I don't need no stinkin recommendation because my buddies, mates, & mentors on the corvetteforum have convince me that I need some S03's!
They said alrighty then, they're in stock and shipping now!
Humbly suggest you also consider the Yokohama AVS Sport Runflats too. Agressive looking tread pattern, low noise and excellent traction in all weather. They're about the same price as the Firestones.
I have had the Firestone RF's for well over a year now and I am very happy. MUCH quieter and excellent grip. I even get 1.9 - 2.0 60 foot times consistantly. Quite a few guys at the track ask me if I am running drag radials. They can hardly believe they are RF's.
I also like the security of RF's when I am on the road even though I have AAA.
I don't think you can fairly compare runflats to non runflats. Non runflats are always going to offer great performance due to the nature of the tire. My suggestion would be if your going to stay with runflats, look at the Goodyears or Yokohama's, if not than get the S0-3's.
