My son and I went to Ennis this morning and got their late, around 10:30. TONS of cars there, from Ricers to 'Stangs, 'Vettes and the "Pro's". Not sure what the wait was for a second run, we left at 12:00 but got what we wanted, a 12 sec. run on the new 'Vette with notjing more than a conical air filter in place of the stock air box.
Here is the slip:
60 ft. 1.958
330 ft. 5.443
1/8 8.283
mph 86.76
1000 10.757
1/4 12.855
mph 107.57
To say the least, I am very pleased, in fact, besides myself! Just put it in "Drive" and hold on.
Thanks for the kind words. Of course, my son made the run, but I guess he is my official driver!
We made that one run, got hungry and left, figuring it would be 2:00 before the next run. Yes, the crowd was huge as expected.
The temperature at the time of the run was 51 degrees (just before the clouds moved in), the humidity was 47% and the barometer was 30.19. This is admittedly good weather for HP, but here in Texas, if you want to set personal records, do it now or wait until the last few weeks of the season, which here is October, just before the National event.
Sorry we missed most of you. I tried to get pics of the ‘Vettes running, but the crowd at the start of the racing at the starting line was so huge that I gave up, too many ricers standing in front of me!
The 1/8 mile time we got today was 0.03 better than our best run at Royce City 2 weeks ago, so we were right on the 12 we hoped for. But we have been stung so many times by what we call the Ennis jinx (assuming good times based on mods, etc.) that we were only hoping for a low 13. We were pleased!
Now that we know our relative ¼ vs. 1/8 mile multiplier, we may go to Royce City more often to test our mods and go to Ennis later in the year.
yep the 01-02 cars are underrated in my opinion.... I will get a chance to see what mine does in the spring, stupid tracks around here close for the winter even though last weekend it was 70.
NE way, nice numbers for an A4, I'm suprised some supra guy hasn't called :bs to your post. If anything those cars are overrated.. I just love to walk them..
I have seen a few people state that they believe the 02's (and 01's?) are the Z06 motor without the cam and valve train. Does this time do anything to bolster that theory?
PS: Great time. I know mine feels extremely strong and pulls like a mule from low RPM on up.
