I see a lot of for sales and wtb for LS2 throttle bodies for LS1 engines - what's the advantage over the LS1 throttle body? Seems to be a common swap...
NO!!!!!!!! You have to have an intake manifold that will accept an LS2 TB. The LS2 TB will NOT bolt to an LS1/6 intake manifold "UNLESS" the manifold has been modified. TPSI currently has a process that grafts an LS2 TB flange on to a stock manifold. Another manifold that accepts a LS2 TB is the FAST 90 or FAST 92
You also will need an adaptor wiring harness that converts the LS1/6 to LS2 configuration.
If you do this up grade you will see a gain BUT,,,,,,,The gain will be minimal until you do other mods that allows the engine to breath better:
heads
cam
headers
better exhaust

Thanks Bill... just wondering what the attraction was is all... I assumed it was an upgrade for sure, likely less $$ than some of the aftermarket ones...didn't know however that it wouldn't fit the LS6 intake...I did know about the wiring harness though...
