OK, bought set of used headers, and I am going to delete the CATS, I have O2 simms for the back. Question I have is do you use the rear O2s up front or use the same ones?
I have heard it done both ways but with the headers and a cam (very Mild) and 243 heads a tune is in the works but will take me a few weeks to get the car in for the tune.
Any help is appreciated!!!
Thanks
Ed
Depends on the header manufacture. Its all about reach, if the front ones can reach without problems then they can be used. The rears are longer and so are used for the headers that have the bung to far for the fronts to reach. If you need to use the rears you will need an adapter or hack the old connectors. I would only do that if you have the wiring diagrams, and only hack the O2 sensor not the Vettes wiring harness.
Sims are a waste if you are getting a tune, any tuner who can tune your car can turn off the codes for the missing rear sensors. In the interim you will get a check engine light, but it will not effect anything. It will only be annoying to have to check the codes to make sure nothing else is wrong.
Long tubes? If so, I hope you got an x-pipe with it or have an x-pipe that will work. Hacking the stock H-ipe looks like a major PIA to me...
MattB, appreciate the help, I bought extentions for the front so should have no problem, the simms were just as you said for sake of having eliminated one problem so if I get codes know that it isn't the O2 sensors.
To all, this forum is a great place for answers and help thanks to all. Great info and great people.
Thanks
