I currently have a 97 manual C5 with a 6 speed t56 transmission. I am getting ready get a procharger kit installed, Fast 92mm intake manifold, LG long tubes, Borla Exhaust, K&N twin intake. The car should make roughly between 520 to 550 Whp. I am worried about my drivetrain, can it hold the power? Should I upgrade to an RPM Trans and Rear Diff, what about drive shafts? Torque Tube? I want the car to be pretty rock solid I don't want to cut corners that will come back to bite me, but at the same time I don't want to break the bank, what should I do? Please advise.
You will need a clutch for sure and rear is you plan to drag race it. Forgot the FAST and spend the money on the drivetrain. So far at 642rwhp my stock drivetrain has held up.

Wow, i'm suprised a stock drivetrain can hold that much power. I do not plan to drag race the car, no hard launches just from rolls. Do you recommend a specific clutch? and how many miles have you driven your car with that kind of hp on the stock drivetrain?
Don't change the clutch until you change the drivetrain.
Changing the clutch will put more pressure on the drivetrain, which will likely break the output shaft(s). changing those will make the weak link either the tires or the transmission. Sticky Drag radials then lead to broken transmission or rear.
Once you start upgrading components, something is going to be the weak link. In the case of drag racing, you'd like that to be the pavement. Just costs $$$ to get there.
I have a stock clutch (AFAIK) on my 95,000 mile drivetrain (all stock). 10,000 miles ago I put in cam, heads, longtubes etc. As long as you are easy with launches, they will hold up to a lot.
If you can afford it go ahead and upgrade the clutch, trans and rear end. If not then drive carefully, no drag racing. I drag race and have had to replace the clutch twice, trans, rear end twice, torque tube couplers in the last 2 years.

Thanks for the response. That is exactly what I would be afraid will happen to my car if I don't upgrade the trans and rear end. What did you upgrade to? and have you had any problems since you upgraded?
