154 mph in my old '92 (never modified) with the adjustable stock suspension...171 mph w/ pedal left in my current '02 when new and unmodified with the base-level stock suspension. Both runs were on scoped-out sections of the German Autobahn system.
In retrospect, they were incredibly stupid to perform, but I guess I can say, "Been there...done that!"
Recommendation: don't do it on a public highway. Take it to the track and have some safety equipment installed before you do so. Also, make sure your car is mechanically in shape beforehand.
Had my 97 coupe to 183 with no susp mods (see motor mods). hoping to get a little more after lowering, shaving mirors and air scoop. Like he said, some additional safety equip and making sure she's tip top prior to attempt i would consider imperative. Too many variables to attempt on open road. Airstrips are great.

Holy cow. Thats moving. How was the stability at speed? What kind of tires are you running? What was your rwhp??
It definitely started to feel a little light on the ground after 180, but it still felt pretty stable considering the speed. I would have taken it to 200 but it was maxed out on the rpm's in 5th gear (m6/3.42). I had and still have Goodyear GS-D3's. 412rwhp.
