Unless your removing it to correct a pulley issue or doing a cam up-grade, it not worth the work involved. Its NOT a big HP contributor and like others have said, a lot of work. Its not difficult but time intensive and you need some specialized tools to do the job correctly
- Pulley puller
- Installation tool (I made mine)
- (Torch or heat gun) Makes removal and re-installation of pulley a LOT easier.
- Flair nut wrenches (METRIC) Removal of the steering rack.
You have to remove the steering rack to get to the bottom pulley. This requires removing the radiator, fans, air bridge... Some have had a very difficult time getting the pulley to come off. You won't feel the power difference of just a pulley change, but now if you combine it with a cam upgrade - then hold on!

And with just removing the water pump and front cover you are then ready to swap the cam.
