This year the Sandhills Open Road Challenge (www.arnolnd-ne.com) is holding a One Mile Shootout in addition to the open road race. Some talk has been going around about the trap speeds at the end of the flying mile. They are doing it just ike a 1/4 mile, but on a 1 mile streatch of road.
What do you think lightly modded C5s can turn in a one mile run? I consider my 99 HT to be lightly modded with a Donaldson intake and PRTs.
I'm pretty sure I can break 145mph at the end of a mile. I can hit 112 mph in a 1/4 mile, but you know how fast the real estate goes by once you are going that fast!

Motor Trend loves to do that test. Last time they ran it (November 2000 issue) a stock Z06 did it in 31.32 seconds @ 160.73 mph. That was an '01 Z06 with 385 hp.
For comparison, here are all the cars that were in that particular test:
Shelby Series 1 supercharged: 30.38 @ 164.76
Dodge Viper ACR: 30.49 @ 164.55
Porsche 911 Turbo: 30.89 @ 161.58
Chevrolet Corvette Z06: 31.32 @ 160.73
BMW Z8: 32.52 @ 152.55
Ferrari 360 Modena: 32.56 @ 152.47
Ford SVT Cobra R: 33.01 @ 149.50
Pontiac Trans Am Firehawk: 33.74 @ 145.78
Qvale Mangusta: 36.77 @ 130.98
I would expect breaking 150 would be possible for you. That sure would be fun to do!
Motor Trend also did that test in 99' with a 99 Coupe, and I believe the number was 33.7 at either 154 or 155MPH. I don't have the magazine here so I could have an optimistic memory. :chevy
