Installed the yella terra rockers (non adjustable)wipe pattern is perfect without shims but at idle shes popping so loud (back firing)that people think im shooting at them.I have the torquer 2 cam(112 lsa),stock heads,lg streets, only thing I changed up before the rocker swap was went with the TR-55 plugs gapped at .40 could this be my problem I had the TR-6 but switched upon a recommendation from someone. Thanks for the help guys
Did you check your pushrod length ? Was the cam degreed when installed or dot to dot ? Double check ground connections, especially the one behind drivers side head as it'll have effect on the coil packs.
Get it to the tuner.
.040 on the TR55's sounds a bit tight, I've heard .050 to .055. I went with .050
How did you set the preload on the rockers? Is it popping on the intake, exhaust or both? Pushrods too long will keep the valves slightly open. A compression check may reveal if this is the issue. Any chance you got your "dots" off by one tooth?
I know for a fact the dots are lined up I saw that much of the install and actually checked behind the guy that helped me do it,because I knew atleast that much about it.possibly could be the push rods they are 7.40 which was the recommended with the cam.I ordered a pushrod checker hopefully I can figure out how to use it will be here today
fixed the problem, went back in and measured everything twice finally after everything was correct wipe, preload etc.found out it was a plug causing the problem. I installed all new TR-6 plugs even though the TR-55 were new also and the problem stopped.
