below the dash would be good, we have a law coming here in Ontario that may make it illegal to be up on dash. Not sure about it, but I would prefer mind down below as well. Currently have it in left lower corner, does not cause much of an issue.

Here's what I did with my 750:
I got a mount for a 265 model that is articulated at the suction cup. That way I can move the unit on the ball and still adjust it at the cup.
I then pull the actual ash-tray out of the center area. I mounted VELCRO inside that area.
I then put VELCRO on the suction-cup of the mount.
I can then put the whole thing in the ash-tray area, resting the NUVI on the console and it all works quite well.
