Default Porting LS1 heads??

I am just curious if it is worth porting a set of stock LS1 heads off of my 2000 coupe and selling them?

If you are going to port them, then why would you sell them?

I was going to port them so that I could sell them for more but if you recommend just selling them at LS1Tech then I will try that.

I guess I should explain where they came from I recently upgraded to AFR LS6 heads during the recent engine upgrade I did and these are the stock heads off of my engine. So I will not be using them just want to get rid of them.

Yeah, that helps, your sig does not reflect the new heads.

At one time I checked into getting my stock LS1 heads ported. I don't remember the exact numbers but by the time it was all done with the shipping and the core charges I could have bought some aftermarket ported LS6 heads (not AFR or TF, but a good set of heads) for about the same $$$. I think it would have been $1,000 or more.

I don't think it would make them worth much more to anyone than they are now and they won't flow as well as ported LS6 heads.

If someone was going to go through all the trouble and labor cost of a head swap why would they put LS1 heads - even if they were ported - back on when there are much better options out there?

Sell them on the forum/ebay/craigslist. There is probably somebody that stripped some threads etc. and is looking for a cheap way to fix it.
